Kawasaki Protection Plan

I’m really interested in finding out if there is a Kawasaki protection plan available for the NAV? I believe on the website it says something like coming soon. Looks like a great vehicle but I’m hesitant to spend $15,000 on a vehicle with a two-year warranty, I get the battery is six years, but there are so many things that could possibly go wrong on a new design. I have been checking into the KPP and it is outrageously priced. 4 years is over $3000! That 30% of the MSRP and the only thing I can figure is that the number of units sold is so low that there is not enough to spread the risk OR these units may have a high failure rate OR both? Even 1 year is $1424. If you compare to new hybrid automobiles, the price is higher than what I paid on a $60000 car extended warranty at only $2000 for an OEM backed 7 year warranty. Not sure what’s up, please comment if you have any info. Thanks

I agree with you, that seems excessively high. We haven't heard of many failures, so that's good... but the math definitely ain't mathin!

Yes, I was told by KPP sellers that this cart is classified under the two top tiers for KPP pricing. So, this means that the cart is similar to a $50,000 side by side for the extended warranty which also makes no sense. Very disappointing as I really wanted the extended warranty.

The dealer I bought from was offering the extended warranty packages for half price. And they said the offer was coming from Kawasaki. So you may want to ask your dealer about it.

I don't see a need to purchase an extended warranty on the NAV, and have owned mine for one year and 150 hours now. I've removed the complete dash and cowling, and examined the build quality of most parts.

I've also purchased and perused the very thorough service manual. The major electrical drive components are from very reputable U.S and Canada based, very established companies.

The frame and structure is built with Kawasaki engineered experience and quality, and the drivetrain is not ICE powered.

I would skip any consideration of an extended warranty on the NAV.
