Nicely done, Kawasaki. Usually I'm leery of buying a brand new model, but figured Kawasaki's ATV experience would benefit this new line of golf carts. (Damn! -not supposed to use the "golf cart" descriptive name -it's a NAV or PTV -I'm confused!). Regardless of what we call the vehicle, it appears they have hit a home run out of the ballpark!
Now, having purchased a new 2025 Kawasaki NAV 4e, and using it for a couple of weeks, I will share my thoughts and review of it:
TL;DR: The NAV is highly designed and well-featured, and may be the best-in-class of forward seating PTV's. But, it needs more speed.
Our NAV is serial # 222, purchased on 7/3/25 at the local Panama City, Fl dealer. The build date is 2/15/2025. They had all three models on hand: NAV 4e, NAV 4e LE and Nav 4e LImited. I went to this dealership to look at Club Car models -specifically the LSV model, which I was considering, along with the Ezgo Liberty LSV. So, that said....my budget was already $20,000.
As I entered this large multi-branded dealership of Cycles, ATV's, Boats and Golf Carts -the first thing that caught my eye was this beautiful Kawasaki NAV 4e Limited. I was immediately drawn to the feature-laden design, and the forward seating style for four. Upon closer examination, I was simply stunned by how well thought out everything was.
The pricing was all MSRP: (Dealer would not discount new models)
- Vehicle: $ 19,999
- Running boards: 285
- Rear locking storage: 295
- Labor for install options: 180
- Dealer admin/service fee: 750
Total purchase price: $ 21,509 (Plus state and local sales tax)
My only concern prior to purchase was the 19 mph governed speed, as I was desiring 25 mph to use on my neighborhood streets and nearby downtown business district. The dealer believes they will have the software modification soon, to bring the speed to 25 mph.
Great features:
• Comfortable premium seats
• Folding rear seat to create large platform
• Lots of storage compartments and cubby holes
• Great grab rails
• Good audio with overhead speakers (better than a speaker bar)
• Car Play and Android Auto integration
• Hitch receiver for accessories or trailer
• Compatibility for Kawasaki's KQR fittings and accessories
Ride and handling:
Very pleased with the handling, and it is quite responsive to steering inputs. The acceleration is great with a lot of torque from the electric motor. The speed is governed to 19 mph, and governed even going down hill with regenerative braking. The regenerative braking is perfect when coming to a stop, and you seldom need to use the brake pedal. Of course, this is helping extend the battery charge. It really works well. The overall turning radius seems wide, but it is a big machine.
The ride, to me is somewhat firm, and you feel the bumps on rough pavement. We've only used it with two people, and I imagine it is softer with 4 people on board due to the extra weight.
The off-road type tires look great on the vehicle, but they do contribute to road noise. I will be interested to see if someone tries street tires on it for comparison.
Room for improvements and wish list:
• Increase speed to 25 mph
• Make turn signals self-cancelling
• Offer a street tire option
• Seat belt option
• Charging port receptical is awkward to use (under dash)
• Faster charger would be nice (although overnight is working for me)
• Triple pack battery option (there is space for another)
• Accessory switch position, so radio only usage doesn't run hour meter
• More color options
Summary:
We are one hundred percent pleased with the NAV, other than desiring a bit more speed. The design, engineering and quality throughout exceeds all expectations. I believe the Kawasaki NAV sets a new standard for this class of PTV.
Hopefully others will find this site, and offer their thoughts as well. I look forward to other opinions and reviews of the NAV models.
