2024 nav 4e limited, changed out the kawasaki factory speakers with some nice Polk speakers. The kawasaki speakers are 4 ohm and so are the Polk. I turned on the cart and got no sound unless I turn the volume all the way up. I factory reset the radio and then the music was working as it should through android auto. Turned the cart off and when we went back out to go for a ride, once again no music unless volume all way up. Android auto hooked right up as it should. My wife tried her apple car play and no music there either. Any one have any ideas for a fix of have had a similar experience?

Doing sme more research there was an older thread about this problem. If you turn off the subwoofer the audio wont work. There is a firmware update from hifonics that is supposed to solve this problem.
 
Yes, that was me. They said you can leave "subwoofer on" position even in no sub there. Will not affect the other speakers. I still have not installed the firmware update, because of this.
 
I just installed the update and it works like a charm. They say to do installs but on the website there was 1 firmware install and 1 soc install or something like that and the soc fie is just a pdf. So i just installed the firmware and it works great. I watched kaw subwoffer install video for their sub while waiting and im thinking of installing my own under the rear seats. Lots of empty space under there. Seems ill have to install a separate amp to drive the sub. Kaw's is pretty expensive for what you get i think. And id like to keep that storage.
 
Good to know the update works. I'll do the update soon, even though I have already installed the sub woofer up front.
 
I wanted to get some warmth into the what I perceived as tinny sound coming from the OEM speakers, especially with the lower byte rates -from streaming music apps. The ease of installation, and that it is designed to somewhat port into the dash and cabin, convinced me to try it. I could do without the storage space as it's kinda awkward to access anyway.

That said, I didn't get it for bass-thumping neighborhood blasting. I have the sub output set midway at 5, and it enriches the sound nicely. I may consider replacing the speakers next. How did that work for you? Did you add an additional amp?
 
I replacing the speakers was very easy. Hardest part is holding speaker up to get 1st screw in. I went with 4 polk speakers and they sound excellent. The stock amp is adequate for them. I think they were 85 bucks a set on Amazon. I like the speaker covers the polk came with. Well I guess for simplicity sake ill prob go with the kaw woofer. I agree the front storage is kina a pain to access.

Do you have the model number for the polk speakers. I am looking to replace also. I could not find anything on the rms of the stock speakers or actual rms output of the built in amp in the head unit. I did just message hifonics what the specs are.
 
I installed these

Polk Audio DB652 DB+ Series 6.5 Inch Marine Speakers, 2-Way Coaxial​

Sound very nice. The sub really adds the low end they are missing since they aren't large speakers. These ones are a shallow mount speaker so you wont need spacers
