I posted a picture that lead me to believe my problem was a dead battery. the bottom of the thermometer was solid red. I called the dealership twice and got help but differing opinions on what to do. with the second tech I indicated both batteries under the seat were showing 5 green bars and the trickle charger indicated it was done charging. still no change. I asked him what the error coded *.* means and he said bring it in and we'll fix it.
he said the problem isn't with the batteries as they are fully charged.
my problem is the dealership is 120 miles away. they delivered the NAV4e when it was new, but now transportation is on me. that motivated me to read the instructions.
so I got out the owner's manual and looked through it.
page 38 indicates the service code TRA:*.* means the ECU can not communicate with the steering wheel meter. that's why I was getting TRA:*.*
it suggests you toggle the run/tow switch to the TOW/STORAGE setting
I found gold on page 54
1. switch the drive direction to NEUTRAL
2. make sure the ignition main switch is turned off
3. switch the RUN/TOW switch to RUN
4. wait 10 seconds then turn on the ignition main switch
I WISHED I HAD MADE A VIDEO.
the TRA:*.* service code went away and changed to BAT 1, then it went away and flashed BAT 2, then everything went full green on the steering wheel meter.
the cart had been fully charged all the time I thought it needed to be charged ;-(
